The annual Carolina Renaissance Festival, a live outdoor amusement park, is holding Open Auditions for performers and personalities of all skills and types to help bring to life the festival's interactive, immersive village.

All experience levels welcome.  Open auditions will be held on June 17 and June 24 from 9:00 am to 12:00 noon at the Cannon School in Concord, NC.

Theater

The Fairhaven Village Players is the ensemble of performers that roam the festival's outdoor renaissance themed village and interact with attendees to add immersive entertainment and bring the village setting to life.  They act, sing, dance, and mix and mingle with attendees.  The festival cast hundreds of villagers for each annually reoccurring festival season.

In LET’S MURDER MARSHA, Marsha, hopelessly addicted to reading murder mysteries, overhears her loving husband discussing her upcoming birthday surprise with an interior decorator. To her ears, though, it sounds like they are planning to murder her!

About the project:
One four-letter word is about to rock 1600 Pennsylvania Avenue. When the president unwittingly spins a PR nightmare into a global crisis, the brilliant and beleaguered women he relies upon most risk life, liberty, and the pursuit of sanity to keep the commander-in-chief out of trouble. A female-centric political farce by Selina Fillinger, POTUS is a riotous comedy about the women in charge of the man in charge of the free world.

Rate:
SPT $675 weekly minimum (SPT 6).

Additional info:
-The AUDITION will consist of a contemporary monologue in the style of the show. Any prepared audition materials/pieces should not exceed 2 minutes.
-In-person callback (in Richmond, VA): June 12, 2023
-Rehearsals begin: July 31, 2023
-Performance run: August 31-October 1, 2023
Please note that the theatre is a fully vaccinated workplace and all employees are required to be fully vaccinated against COVID-19. Proof of vaccination will be required in order to accept employment. Performers must be masked inside the audition venue. Once inside the audition room, instructions will be given for when to remove your mask for your individual audition.
An Equity Monitor will not be provided. The producer will run all aspects of this audition.

HARRIET

Press Secretary. A high-strung, quick-witted woman who can handle any pressroom and neutralize any scandal. A single working mother whose pristine life is threatened only by other people withholding information from her, and by her attraction to a disastrous former partner.

JEAN

Personal Secretary. Has a photographic memory and speaks five languages, but is painfully unassertive and insecure, in perpetual fear of being fired.

STEPHANIE

President's current dalliance. An eagerly patriotic, sex- positive, entrepreneurial Midwest farm girl with more resourcefulness than meets the eye.

DUSTY

The president's jailbird, drug-dealing, lesbian sister. A whirlwind of chaos and mayhem. A savvy kingpin with endless 'connections,' a wicked sense of humor, and raw sexual magnetism. Jean's kryptonite.

BERNADETTE

A journalist. Overburdened, postpartum, newly divorced working mom; a reporter determined to get the story.

CHRIS

The First Lady. An impeccable combination of high fashion, corporate experience, and legal savvy; regal, sophisticated, brimming with bitterness and pent-up rage. Goes for the jugular.
