About the project: 
"Kinky boots is the big-hearted musical extravaganza that won six Tonys including Best Musical and features a joyous, Tony-winning score by the pop icon, Cyndi Lauper, and a hilarious, uplifting book by four time Tony winner, Harvey Fierstein.
Charlie Price has reluctantly inherited his father's shoe factory, which is on the verge of bankruptcy. Trying to save his family business, Charlie finds inspiration in the form of Lola, a fabulous entertainer in need of some sturdy stilettos. As they work to turn the factory around, this unlikely pair find that they have more in common than they realized and discovered that when you change your mind, you can change your whole world."

What To Prepare:
Please prepare a 90 second upbeat vocal audition. Songs from the show are allowed.
Vocal auditions will be judged on vocal quality, as well as stage presence/performance. 
No a cappella auditions.
You may sing to a karaoke track on your phone. They will provide an auxiliary cord.
Dress comfortably for movement, as you will be asked to learn a brief dance combination.
Some auditionees may be asked to read from the script or to attend a callback.
Directors ask that you do not audition acapella. An accompanist will be present as well as a Bluetooth speaker.
Audition Day:
Registration begins at 5:00 pm.
An audition form is required to be filled out upon arrival (resume and headshots are optional but appreciated).
Auditions will begin at 6:00 pm.
Auditions are private. Vocal auditions will be performed in front of the production team alone.
If called back, secondary auditions will take place the following Monday, June 19th, beginning at 7:00 pm

(Tenor C3-B4) – an emotionally and physically challenging role that requires the soul of a Diva, a la Whitney Houston; must-have star presence and feel comfortable wearing everything from full glamour as a scene-stealing drag performer to nothing but boxing trunks; must have a killer voice with power blues and gospel chops; strong comedic actor.

Lola/Simon

(Baritone C3-F4) –  Lola’s nemesis. Burly hypermasculine bear of a factory worker with a menacing physicality.

(Mezzo-Soprano Bb3/Gb5) – Charlie’s long-term girlfriend; sophisticated looks; she is a social climber, driven and uncompromising; she knows what she wants and goes for it.

(Mezzo-Soprano Bb3/Gb5) –  quirky (not glamorous like Nicola) working-class girl who works in the shoe factory; funny and smart but has had bad luck with men; terrific comedic actress.

(Tenor C3/A4) – The drag performers who populate The Blue Angel Nightclub. The angels are an integral part of the show with big personalities. Must be willing to sing and dance in full drag with heels.

(All vocal ranges) – must be excellent pop/rock singers; they will cover featured ensemble roles as well as play factory workers, pub patrons, etc.; factory workers should look like real, everyday people and be able to move very well. The ensemble will also understudy principal roles.

About the project: 
Winner of 3 Tony Awards and 4 Drama Desk Awards, Lend Me A Tenor is set in September 1934. Saunders, the general manager of the Cleveland Grand Opera Company, is primed to welcome world-famous singer Tito Merelli, known as Il Stupendo, the greatest tenor of his generation, to appear for one night only as the star of the opera. Tito arrives late, and through a hilarious series of mishaps, he is given a double dose of tranquilizers and passes out. His pulse is so low that Saunders and his assistant Max believe he’s dead - and in a frantic attempt to salvage the evening, Saunders persuades Max to get into Merelli's costume and fool the audience into thinking he's Il Stupendo. Max succeeds and lives up to his idol, but Merelli regains consciousness and gets into the identical costume, ready to perform. Now two opera singers are running around in the same costume and two women are running around in lingerie, each thinking she is with Il Stupendo. A sensation on Broadway and in London's West End, this madcap, screwball comedy is guaranteed to leave audiences teary-eyed with laughter.

- A song in your key and be ready for any movement portion of the audition that the director may require.
Anyone being called back will be notified that night of the callback time and date.
Not being called back does NOT mean that you are not being considered for a role.
Commitment:
- Please note that by auditioning, you are obligating yourself to a considerable rehearsal and performance process. 
- Please be certain that you are willing and able to make this commitment.

The show may be extended if there is a demand.

You must be available for all performances.
All roles are open to audition. All auditionees must bring sheet music with them and be prepared to sing 16 bars, but no more of a fully memorized Broadway-style, Country or Pop musical selection that showcases your vocal range (Please no songs from the show). An accompanist will be provided. A cappella singing, instrumentals on CD, Tape, iPod, MP3 Player or digital recorder will not be allowed. Please wear comfortable shoes and clothing as you will be required to learn a dance combo during the audition.
