About the project: Set in rural Louisiana in 1943, the play follows three young brides, each married to a brother, as they live under the care of their mother-in-law while their husbands are away at war. The women navigate the challenges of domestic life and societal expectations. A local news story about their resilience catches the attention of a magazine publisher, who sends a war correspondent to cover their story for the magazine's cover.
