5 roles

PENNYFemale30-44 y.o.All ethnicities

Penny, is a long time waitress at Hank's Diner. She's an average woman who has been put through life’s wringer. She has experienced loss on a level most don't until the twilight of their lives. She started her adult life with so much promise. An ordinary girl from a middle class milquetoast suburb, she won a scholarship to her 1st choice school, opening up her world and bringing her to the big city.

MICKEYMale55-65 y.o.All ethnicities

Mickey’s dad was a cop, his grandad was cop, and so on. In fact no one in the Murphy family could tell you when they weren’t cops. Now a hardened vice detective, Mickey started out as a wide-eyed idealist, but the years of undercover work lead to drinking, which lead to gambling and two divorces. Between what he owed to the bookies and in alimony, Mickey was one move away from being thrown a shovel, and told to dig in an empty lot somewhere.

BOONBoth genders25-35 y.o.All ethnicities

Unlike most who end up there, long ago Boon chose the streets. Not his best decision, but he stood by it. Boon was streetwise beyond his years at a young age. A freelancer with no ties to any group or gang, he was a slick operator, always able to work an angle in his favour. That was until the night he crossed paths with Mickey Murphy. Boon has seen and done things he never thought himself capable of, but with no foreseeable way out, he keeps soldiering on.

HANKMale60-75 y.o.All ethnicities

The diner is stitched into Hank’s DNA. Owned and operated by his family for three generations, as his namesake suggests, he’s the third Hank to run it. His grandad always said it was cheaper than changing the sign. They just don’t make neon like that anymore.

TristanFemale18-25 y.o.African-American Latino / Hispanic White / Caucasian Other Native American

Growing up with a blue collar single mom, meant she not only had to take care of her siblings, but also needed to take on jobs after school to help with the bills. Knowing that her only way to break out of the neighbourhood and experience the world was through excelling in her studies. Now in her freshman year, she’s managed to juggle it all, including a part time job at Hank’s, which she actually quite enjoys for the most part.
