LEAD ROLE. Father. African American or Mixed. Eugene is Harmony's estranged father, a deeply flawed man who walked away from his family when Harmony was ten. He has spent years carrying guilt, shame, regret, and love for the daughter he left behind.
SUPPORTING ROLE. Mother. African American or Mixed. Lisa is Harmony's mother and Eugene's former wife. She is a loving, resilient woman who raised Harmony after Eugene left. Lisa struggled with a gambling addiction during Harmony's childhood, which contributed to the deterioration of her marriage, but she eventually recovered and remained present in her daughter's life.
SUPPORTING ROLE. Harmony's husband. Jonathan is Harmony's loving, supportive husband and Melody's devoted father. He is the embodiment of the kind of consistent male presence Harmony never had growing up.
