Phillip's accountant. Grey suit, precise pocket square, treats every meeting like a quarterly result. Presents as the antagonist, quietly isn't. Bone-dry comedy.

Non-speaking. A senior pickleball student who paid upfront. Strong physical and reactive comedy: her walker does not survive the afternoon. She does.

Nemen's associate, whose chief professional skill is enthusiastic agreement. Holds a brown folder at chest height. Sincere, kind and entirely without irony. A double act with Nemen.

Lead. EAST ASIAN. A former paediatrician who now runs a driving school and a pickleball academy out of a strip mall. Tired, competent and quietly devoted, with a dry humour that lands almost by accident. He is hiding an overdue loan from the family he holds together.

EAST ASIAN. Phillip's wife. Bright, quick and the life of every dim sum table. Proud of his businesses but has never been to them, and texts him errands all day. Warm and recognisable, never a villain.

EAST ASIAN. His older daughter, a brand designer who charges twelve hundred dollars for a logo and texts Baba about a forty-two-dollar lipstick. Comfortable rather than cruel. Strong comic timing.
