"Soldier Boy" student film needs actors. ONLY LOCAL TALENT WILL BE CONSIDERED. See the roles below. About the project: Synopsis: As the military bus arrives to collect a 16- year-old boy, he struggles to leave his mother behind when she insists he’s the son she already lost in the war. Rate: Unpaid, travel stipend and food provided. Additional info: Non union. Self-tape submissions. Rehearsal date(s): TBD Shoot date(s): November 13th-15th, 2026. Everyone says Soldier Boy looks just like Anthony. However, that's where the similarity ends. Soldier Boy lingers in the shadow of his late brother, struggling to fill the space he left behind. This includes caring for his mother, who can barely make ends meet. Soldier Boy is reserved, shy, and naive. He hides in the stanzas of his poems, waiting for the day someone will see him for who he truly is. [Preference is a male, however directors are open to women].
Devastated by the loss of their firstborn son, Mama struggles to take care of the family they have. Working in a munitions factory, they try their best to keep their head above water. They want nothing more than to keep Soldier Boy safe, but when the growing weight of helplessness overtakes them, they slowly descend into a deep spiral. [Preference is a woman but can change it to be a man, if necessary].
