"A Mirror" Stage Play Casting Equity Actors
Equity actors wanted for 2027 Stage III season show "A Mirror". The relevant details are provided below. Rate: LORT Non-Rep $889 weekly minimum (LORT D) Additional info: Audition day lunch 1:00 PM - 2:00 PM. PREPARATION: Please prepare two contrasting monologues (one should be comedic) with a total audition time under 3-minutes. EPA Procedures are in effect for this audition. Male-presenting. REAL ADEM – Older, front-lines veteran-turned-mechanic, driven by his belief that the truth must be told at all costs. ČELIK – Enjoys the privileges of his elite position, and barely conceals his aspirations to be Minister of Culture. REGISTRAR – Older, distinguished, commands the room and keeps order during the wedding proceedings, leads the rest of the weddinggoers throughout the show.
Male-presenting. HARI – Son of the Minister of Culture, rebellious, does not agree with his parents and their political ideals. ADEM – Front- line veteran-turned-mechanic, fantastic memory for conversations. GROOM – JOEL, a young groom, excited to marry his fiancé. INTIMACY NOTE: Engages in intimacy staging with TRACK 3, including partially disrobing, kissing on the neck and mouth, and the initiating steps to implied theatrically depicted intercourse.
Female-presenting. MEI – Front-line veteran and assistant in the Ministry of Culture. Prior to her new employment she did not have any context for the theatre, as she grows in her confidence she finds herself stirred by ADEM’S writing. BRIDE – LEYLA, a young bride, excited to marry her fiancé. INTIMACY NOTE: Engages in intimacy staging with TRACK 2, including partially disrobing, kissing on the neck and mouth, and the initiating steps to implied theatrically depicted intercourse.
Male-presenting. BAX – Playwright, struggling with alcoholism and grief after the loss of his wife, used to write more daring plays before ČELIK took him under his wing. The uncomfortable mirror of ADEM’S writing forces him to confront his own complicity with the Ministry of Culture’s agenda. BEST MAN – Best friends with JOEL, guitarist and poor singer.
