About the play: As children, Catherine and Harriet dreamed of opening their own gallery. It's been nearly a year since she took a step back from her research to deal with some personal matters, but she's ready to prove she can commit. The changing climate and its effects on the ecosystem prove the perfect topic for her new project, but she soon discovers some things add up too well to be mere coincidence. Rate: This play is being produced on a volunteer basis, directors are unable to offer financial compensation at this time. Additional information: Rehearsals will take place Mid - Late October (exact dates TBD). Show dates TBD, there will be two performances within the dates of Nov 2 - Nov 15. This play contains themes of depression and loss. Genre wise, it could be described as "magical realism", with a strong focus on the sudden changing of weather patterns, how the mindset can affect the world around us (and vice-versa), and the myth of the selkie. If interested, please apply.

4 roles

CatherineFemale25-35 y.o.All ethnicities

The protagonist. Wearing a lot of hats and just trying her best to make it all work out. She throws herself into her work in order to ignore more pressing personal issues, but it all comes back to bite her in the end. Used to fancy herself a creative until life hit her and she had to give it up for stability. Believes in being presentable at all times, professional, productive, an active member of the community... But she's struggling to keep up.

HarrietMale25-35 y.o.All ethnicities

Catherine's best friend since childhood. Very forward-thinking, ambitious, always has a plan. Tends to speak before she thinks. Excitable and energetic but not childish. A very hard worker who was willing to risk everything to accomplish her dreams. Unfortunately, with Catherine being so capricious as of late, that risk has only gotten greater.

WalterMale20-30 y.o.All ethnicities

A fisherman coming to visit from out of town. Catherine's brother-in-law. He's a bit of a goofball, a typical "younger brother" type who knows exactly what buttons to press. Though quick to joke, he's really the most levelheaded of them all. He's got his own life growing and sometimes struggles to keep up with all the drama, but sometimes a clear mind is what you really need. This role will involve recording some lines.

ReporterMale25-96 y.o.All ethnicities

A voice heard over the radio reporting the rapidly worsening weather. All lines for this role will be recorded.
