Talent Needed for "Psychopomp!" Musical
Casting Call for Upcoming Dark-Comedy Musical 'Psychopomp!' ONLY LOCAL TALENT WILL BE CONSIDERED. About the project: Psychopomp! is a new dark-comedy stage musical about the insane lengths that a couple will go to be together. The play is packed with infectious rock and roll, raucous comedy, and bombastic characters - think Beetlejuice meets Alice Cooper. The word 'Psychopomp' refers to the being that brings one's spirit into the afterlife, like Anubis, the Valkyries, Charon on the River Styx, or The Grim Reaper. As the settings and humor of the show dissolve into madness, the play morphs from Romeo and Juliet, to Rocky Horror, to The Addams Family, on an irreverent ride through the afterlife. Rate: Dependent on role – profits from the show will be paid to cast. On longer rehearsal nights, meals will be provided. The show will be filmed and photographed, and a cast album will be recorded – all available for you to use however you like. Fun, sarcastic punk rock guitarist – Confident, but doesn't take herself too seriously. Guitar experience a plus, but not at all required.
Tess' friend – think Rizzo from Grease. Sassy but protective of Tess. And sometimes a little annoyed by her, too.
Sincere, self-effacing, sorta nerdy - aspiring magician.
Jake's friend – laid-back, smooth, funny, etc - Cooler than Jake, but that's a low bar.
The actual live musicians for the show – upstage throughout show.
The Psychopomp. Tess' sidekick throught the play. Not overly ambitious about their career.
Charlatan in a world where all the weird, wild mythology turns out to be real.
Beach-bum parrot-head scientist – eccentric but earnest.
