Lead role. Sensitive, anxious, timid, and emotionally vulnerable. Alice is an ordinary woman who has spent most of her life avoiding politics and conflict, but circumstances force her to confront choices she can no longer avoid.
Warm, composed, intelligent, and deeply convinced of her beliefs. Anna is persuasive without being aggressive and genuinely believes she is helping the people around her.
A charismatic political-media personality: confident, vulgar, funny, and completely at ease in front of a camera. He can shift instantly from casual humor to unsettling seriousness.
Dry, observant, cynical, and sardonic. Michael sees the absurdity in almost everything and often responds to uncomfortable situations with humor rather than emotion. Requires understated comic timing and the ability to make sharp or outrageous dialogue feel effortless.
Warm, enthusiastic, and sincerely professional at first, before the role takes a dramatic comic turn. Requires strong deadpan comedy, physical performance, and the ability to move from calm confidence to complete emotional collapse.
Gentle, reassuring, and almost grandfatherly in manner. Calm and sincere, treating unusual circumstances as completely routine. Small but memorable speaking role.
Dual role. As the TV Host, polished, professional, composed, and comfortable on camera. As an S.P.A. Officer, cold, controlled, and authoritative. The two performances should feel distinctly different.
Gentle, practical, empathetic, and emotionally grounded. Jenny is one of the more human and compassionate presences in the story and serves as a quiet counterweight to the stronger personalities around her. For the teen roles, we are open to appropriate-age performers as well as older actors who can convincingly play younger.
A polished, theatrical, relentlessly upbeat spokesperson with the energy of an overly cheerful television infomercial host. Requires confident delivery of a longer promotional monologue and a brief deliberately cheesy sung line.
One half of a married couple featured in an exaggerated in-world commercial. Requires a rapid shift from melodramatic despair to joyful advertising enthusiasm, plus a brief sung line.
The other half of the same couple. Expressive, committed, and comfortable with heightened deadpan comedy and a brief sung advertising line.
Alice's husband. Grounded, conversational, and relatively conventional. Small speaking role requiring relaxed, natural ensemble chemistry.
Anna's husband. Calm, understated, and socially comfortable. Small speaking role centered on natural ensemble interaction.
Very small speaking role with one line and a brief physical action. Natural, matter-of-fact performance preferred.
Cold, disciplined, and authoritative. Limited dialogue, but strong physical presence and convincing command delivery are important. Much of the character appears in a dark, tense sequence.
