A normally confident woman who suddenly loses her nerve when her crush is around. She spends the afternoon trying to work up the courage to walk onto the court and finally make her move. Must be able to convey strong internal anxiety and subtle micro-expressions.
Mia’s longtime homeboy. He is hilarious, incredibly nosy, and a massive instigator. He spends the afternoon aggressively pushing Mia out of her comfort zone so she stops stalling. Rapid-fire comedic timing and great banter skills are required.
A neighborhood teen hustler. He walks the sidelines with a cooler, confidently selling ice-cold waters and snacks to the players and crowd.
Malachi’s right-hand man. He’s quick, observant, and immediately shuts down anyone trying to get a free handout.
(Featured Extras) Looking for athletic guys to play a realistic, high-energy pickup game on the court during the opening scenes. You must actually know how to hoop and bring an authentic, competitive neighborhood energy to the background.
Looking for teenagers, adults, and "old heads" to bring a vibrant Pittsburgh basketball court to life. We need people capable of playing a realistic game of pickup basketball, as well as small entourages to hang out on the sidelines. (Note: Extras will only be needed for the morning wide shots, so it will be a short time commitment!).
