About the project: On Thanksgiving Day, a high-spirited elderly man sets out to his family’s for Thanksgiving, only to discover that he doesn’t remember where they live. Additional info: This film will be primarily shot in Delaware. Shooting Dates: November 6th, 7th, 8th, 13th, and 14th. (During the daytime) Back Up Dates: November 15th and 16th. LEAD ROLE Ernie is an energetic and completely unselfconscious old man. Despite his age, he has the enthusiasm and spirit of someone much younger. He’s friendly, talkative, and often hilariously oblivious to how strange his behavior appears to other people. Ernie sets out on Thanksgiving determined to find his family. Along the way, his confidence begins to crack as he encounters increasingly confusing reminders that his memory may be failing him.
SUPPORTING ROLE Doug is an Uber driver who initially appears annoyed and uninterested in Ernie’s rambling conversation. However, as Doug spends more time driving Ernie around, he gradually becomes concerned about him. What begins as a routine Uber ride slowly develops into an unexpected friendship.
SUPPORTING ROLE Nancy is Ernie’s sister-in-law who he briefly mistakes as his wife Patty. She recognizes Ernie immediately and eventually has to help him confront the reality of what happened to his family.
SMALL SUPPORTING ROLE The Pastor is preaching for a Thanksgiving service when Ernie unexpectedly begins wandering through the congregation looking for his family. The Pastor initially tries to remain professional but gradually becomes confused and concerned by Ernie’s behavior.
SMALL SUPPORTING ROLE Lizzie is a waitress at a diner. When Ernie enters looking for his daughter Lindsey, he mistakenly believes Lizzie is his daughter. The scene plays largely as an awkward but humorous misunderstanding.
SMALL SUPPORTING ROLE The Cashier works at the diner alongside Lizzie. The character helps establish the diner environment and reacts to Ernie’s unusual behavior.
SMALL SUPPORTING ROLE The Mother is cooking Thanksgiving dinner with her husband when Ernie pops in thinking that this is his family’s house. When Earnie pops in, both the mother and father get startled, causing food to fly everywhere.
SMALL SUPPORTING ROLE The Father is cooking Thanksgiving dinner with his wife when Ernie pops in thinking that this is his family’s house. When Earnie pops in, both the mother and father get startled, causing food to fly everywhere. The Father then walks Ernie out of the house.
