"Blame It on the Movies" Audition for the Theater

About the project: With a staggering collection of over 75 of the most well-known songs from the most well-known films, ranging from Gone with the Wind to Footloose, Blame It on the Movies! is a delicious romp through cinematic history. Features unforgettable tunes from The Wizard of Oz, Meet Me in St. Louis, The Pink Panther, Rocky, Psycho, Jaws, Goldfinger, The Color Purple and countless others. A fun-filled homage to movie musicals, screwball comedies, shoot-em-up westerns, sizzling screen romances, thrillers, action-adventure flicks, historical epics and auteurs alike. Additional info: Callbacks: Monday, October 12 from 6:30–9:00pm. All individuals must arrive at the top of the audition slot (2:00/6:00) to learn the dance call. Please prepare a 16–32 bar cut of a musical theatre song in the style of the show. Please bring sheet music clearly marked for the accompanist. Must have a resume listing theatrical experience. All roles are paid positions. Housing and transportation are not provided. 8 roles available, open to all ages, genders, ethnicities, and vocal ranges. Rehearsals begin the week of December 13. Rehearsals run every Sunday–Thursday through Wednesday, January 20. Sunday rehearsals: 6:00–10:00pm. Weeknight rehearsals: 6:30–10:30pm. Tech rehearsals: January 17–20 from 6:00–11:00pm.
