People w/Dissabilities Needed for Documentary "Mirror"

Montreal, QC, Canada
ID: 321174Exp: 10/31/2026
Description:

ONLY LOCAL TALENT WILL BE ACCEPTED. Looking for family members with a loved one in a situation of disability who wish to participate in a documentary project about their experience and their family reality. See the details below. About the project: Miroir is interested in a dimension that is still too little addressed by disability, namely its impact on the entire family. If the voice of people with disabilities is essential, that of their loved ones is often less heard. The documentary aims to give them a place in order to better understand their realities, their challenges, their emotions, their responsibilities, and the transformations that disability can bring within a family. The project is being carried out by a director himself who has cerebral palsy. This personal reality is the starting point of the documentary and nourishes a deeply human approach aimed at understanding and highlighting the experiences of those who accompany a person with a disability on a daily basis. Additional information: Each participant will be invited to share their personal experience in the context of an individual interview. A roundtable meeting will also be organized to allow for an exchange about their different experiences, their common points, and their differences. No experience in front of the camera is required. Primarily looking for authentic people, open to discussion, and willing to contribute to a more nuanced and human representation of disability and its repercussions on those close to them. Location: Montreal and surrounding areas. Period: End of week in November and December 2026. Independent Documentary format. The project is driven by the desire to create a respectful, compassionate, and non-judgmental space where each participant can freely share their experience. If you're interested, please apply.
