Theater Casting Call for "Barn Visit" Play

ONLY LOCAL TALENT WILL BE ACCEPTED. Directors are on the hunt for two actors looking to perform in the world premiere of a FRESH piece of theatre "Barn Visit" at this year's Fresh Meat 15. See the details below. About the play: "Barn Visit' is an intimate gothic horror piece set in a rural area in the late 19th century. It follows long term couple Grace (an heiress) and Adrian (a farm labourer). Using a gender based inversion of the damsel-in-distress trope, this piece interrogates complicity in systemic harm through inaction. Over a series of visits to an old barn, Grace attempts to free her partner Adrian (who is trapped there) but repeatedly fails. As time passes and novelty wears, Grace shifts to managing the situation instead of working to end it. Adrian slowly becomes a chore, Grace resents and blames him for being there. Eventually she gives up and abandons him, quickly feels guilty and returns, then they restart. Grace apologizes and leaves. Adrian is still there. Will she come back? The ending is left ambiguous. Rate: The role pays an honorarium of $400. Additional information: The festival runs October 28 to 31 with a technical rehearsal taking place on October 27, time TBD.
