About the project: Four months after the loss of his best friend and community, Camilo, a musician in a mutual aid activist group meets with two surviving members. After which, the two of them help Camilo leave his despair behind so he can then grapple with the realities of being a freedom fighter for a future that is increasingly uncertain. Rate: Meal, copy, credit. Parts are volunteer, non-union, unpaid positions. Additional info: Shooting Dates: October 30 - November 1st, with additional October shoot dates TBD. (LEAD) - A Latino activist and musician who, after tragedy strikes, becomes numb from the seemingly impossible odds against his values and community. There is a lingering sense of hope and fight within him; but he needs a push to realize it. Must be comfortable with guitar and singing.
(SUPPORTING) - A figurehead in an activist group; Prof is a well-read and tasteful educator, counselor, and wise friend to those around him. The movement is his religion. Any ethnicity.
(SUPPORTING) - A seasoned nurse in an activist group, who volunteers her time to help those around her. Selina is resourceful, thoughtful, and someone who can roll with the punches. Must be BIPOC.
(SUPPORTING,) - A naive teen who wants to help people and be a part of something bigger. He shares a brotherly relationship with Camilo, whom he looks up to. Must be Latino.
(SUPPORTING) - A kind, elderly figure devoted to Catholicism who was under the care of Guillermo until his disappearance. Must be Latino.
