Female Lead for Cinematic Pop/R&B Visual: Gaslighting Theme
Casting a female lead for a cinematic pop/R&B music video filming in the GTA. The visual centers around a dark, increasingly tense chess game between a man and woman, using the game as a metaphor for gaslighting, hypocrisy, and double standards in a relationship – where the rules and standards continually change. Seeking a performer with strong camera presence and expressive, subtle reaction acting. The character is self-assured and genuinely believes she is being reasonable, even as the male lead becomes increasingly frustrated. Her performance moves between calm confidence, disbelief, defensiveness and irritation without becoming an obvious villain or an exaggerated “mean girl.” No romantic or sexual physicality required, other than eye contact. Primarily seated performance/reaction acting. Shoot date TBD, late Sept/early Oct in Toronto. The song’s mood-board for the video is attached.
