Actors Needed for "The Two Noble Kinsmen" Play Audition
Performers wanted for "The Two Noble Kinsmen" with the Utah Shakespeare Festival. More details provided below. ONLY LOCAL TALENT WILL BE CONSIDERED. Rate: LORT B: $1,213 weekly minimum. LORT D: $889 weekly minimum (for performers cast in both Two Noble Kinsmen and Into the Breeches!). Additional info: Contract Dates: May 3 – October 2, 2027, or June 7 – October 2, 2027 (dependent on casting). This production will be performed with an ensemble of 8 actors, each playing multiple roles. All roles will be understudied. Performers will appear in more than one show. Non-singers: prepare either a 1½-minute Shakespeare monologue (no sonnets) or a 1½-minute contemporary monologue. Singers: prepare a 1½-minute Shakespeare monologue (no sonnets) and 16 bars of a Broadway-style song showing range and vocal prowess. Equity membership card required. An Equity monitor will not be provided; the producer will run all aspects of the audition. If interested, please apply.

(Female-identifying). Sister to Hippolyta, she is an Amazon and a warrior who is skilled in battle. Emilia is caught between competing visions of love while trying to maintain her own autonomy.
(Female-identifying). An immature, romantic, young woman. In love with Palamon, she figures out a way to free him from captivity. The 2nd Queen is a widow to a king who died fighting King Creon. Venus is the goddess of love, beauty, and desire.
(Female-identifying). Hippolyta is the Queen of the Amazons, and later Duchess of Athens. Diana is the Roman goddess of the hunt, the moon, and nature. The countrywoman is a rustic and Morris dancer.
(Female-identifying). The queen is the widow of King Capaneus, who died fighting King Creon. The Doctor is consulted by the Jailer in hopes of curing his daughter’s madness. The Schoolteacher leads the Morris dance with the rustics.
(Male-identifying). One of the two noble kinsmen. A warrior driven by honor and ambition. Cousin to Palamon and nephew to Creon, King of Thebes.
(Male-identifying). One of the two noble kinsmen. Palamon is idealistic, driven by devotion and love. Cousin to Palamon and nephew to Creon, King of Thebes.
(Male-identifying). Theseus is the Duke of Athens, who has conquered the Amazons. The Jailer is the person in charge of the prison for high-ranking captives.
(Male-identifying). The Wooer is a suitor to the Jailer’s Daughter. Pirithous is Theseus’s dear friend and has a great deal of influence on him. The countryman is a rustic and a Morris dancer. Mars is the Roman god of war.
