Open Roles for Males in a Military Short Film
ONLY LOCAL TALENT WILL BE CONSIDERED. Looking for Iranian male actors to play soldiers in a political-comedy short film about Mandatory Military Service in Iran. See the details below. About the project: Logline: “Lost in the wartime wilderness of Southern Iran, a squad of young conscripts must work together to regroup with the rest of their unit. But the longer they’re gone, the less they want to go back…”. Rate: Roles are all volunteer-based and unpaid. Gas costs will be reimbursed and meals will be provided on all 4 days. Additional information: Fluency in Farsi is required for the four main leads. Acting experience is preferable but not required. Logistics: This is a low-budget student film. Locations: Filming will take place in several locations across Southern Ontario. Also looking for older actors to play as the more experienced Commanding Officers in the story. Farsi-speaking actors are preferred, though actors from other Middle Eastern backgrounds may also be considered. When applying, please submit a head shot and resume (if available).

A reserved farm-boy who never wanted to join the army. He spends much of his time thinking about his estranged fiancée.
The group's domineering leader. fiercely pro-military and dreams of becoming a high-ranking sergeant. Frequently picks on Aryan.
Cocky and laid-baid with no real sense of urgency. always cracking jokes and testing darius' patience.
The chronically anxious guy. Tries to mediate fights but often finds himself caught in the middle.
Aryan's strict and traditional father, who enlists him without his consent.
Aryan's fiancée. seen briefly at the start.
Looking for mature male actors to portray the older officers who arrest aryan (and later, the group). They are the "face and voice" of the military.
