About the project: Set in 1894, after Holmes’ return from the Reichenbach Falls, A Sherlock Carol follows Sherlock Holmes as he stumbles through a London that doesn’t seem to need him. After all, without Moriarty, who is Sherlock Holmes? He’s pulled out of retirement by Dr. Timothy “Tiny Tim” Cratchit, who is all grown up now and wants Holmes to help him solve the murder of his benefactor, Ebeneezer Scrooge. Will Sherlock take the case and remember what is truly important in life, love, and friendship, or will he let the ghosts of his past bring him down? A Sherlock Carol is a fun holiday show that combines two classics of Victorian literature, uniting them both in a joyful mug of holiday cheer. This play is a festive feast for the family. Rate: All roles are open and unpaid. Additional info: Call backs, if invited, will be on Thursday, September 17th. Performances: November 27-December 13, 2026, with a total of nine (9) performances. Fridays and Saturdays at 8:00 pm, and Sundays at 2:00 pm. Rehearsals will take place at various city-owned locations within the City of Gaithersburg. Performances will take place at the Arts Barn, 311 Kent Square Road, Gaithersburg, MD. No conflicts with show dates will be accepted. No show on 12/12, but there will be a double show day with a matinee and an evening show on 12/5. Rehearsals: Rehearsals will begin on September 21st. Weekday rehearsals run Monday/Wednesday/Thursday evenings. Rehearsal times are potentially subject to change, and directors request that you thoroughly indicate all weekday, weekend, and holiday conflicts on your Conflict Calendar.​​ Tech: Load-in and Tech rehearsals will take place the weekend of November 22nd. Brush-up rehearsal on Thursday, December 3rd, will be held between performance weekends at the discretion of the directing and stage management teams. If interested, please apply.
