Lead / Protagonist Rachel is an intelligent, independent graphic designer and devoted mother whose ordinary life is shattered when a severe headache lands her in Mercy General Hospital. Actor Notes: The performance needs to transition through several distinct stages
Lead / Rachel’s Father Charles is a retired police officer with decades of experience reading people, investigating inconsistencies and recognizing when something doesn’t add up. Actor Notes: Should rarely appear panicked and most powerful moments should come when he becomes quiet rather than loud. His anger is controlled.
Supporting Lead / Rachel’s Brother Darren is a construction worker and Rachel’s younger brother. He is physically imposing but emotionally sensitive. Unlike Charles, Darren operates from emotion. Actor Notes: His relationship with Charles is important and there should be tension between Charles’s “think first” and Darren’s “we don’t have time”. That difference creates much of their dramatic energy.
Supporting Lead / Antagonist / Head of Psychiatry Head of Psychiatry at Mercy General she is calm, professional and extremely dangerous Actor Notes: NEVER overplay her villainy. The scarier she is when she’s calm, polite and reasonable
Supporting Lead / FBI Investigator / Ally Park is intelligent, compassionate and methodical. She’s investigating a pattern of missing people before the Shepard Family fully understands what is happening. Actor Notes: Should initially question Rachel’s story. Park’s belief in Rachel should eventually feel earned.
16 / Supporting / Rachel’s Daughter Represents the life Rachel is desperately trying to return to. Jacoba’s relationship with Rachel should feel authentic: loving but occasionally strained by Jacoba’s desire for independence.
Supporting / Stranger to Rachel Possibly the hospital’s next victim. This character’s storyline leads into a possible sequel.
Supporting / Psych Ward Patient / Major Supporting Character to Rachel Psychiatric patient who has already learned how Mercy General operates. She’s frightened, guarded and emotionally damaged. Tanya becomes Rachel’s first source of information about the hospital. Actor Notes: Her fear should feel different from Rachel’s
Supporting / Psych Ward Patient Marcus is a former accountant who notices patterns others miss. The screenplay establishes him as trembling and frightened but knowledgeable about the hospital’s numbers.
Male / 45 / Supporting / Psych Ward Patient Jack appears to be mentally unstable and constantly mutters about the “harvest”. Is he crazy or does he understand what’s happening? Actor Notes: Don’t play Jack as simply “crazy”. There should be moments where the audience sees intelligence underneath the behavior.
Supporting / FBI Investigator / Agent Park’s Partner Serious and a deep thinker Actor Notes: Should not simply become the “other FBI agent”. Give Sandoval a distinct investigative style.
Minor Supporting / Hospital Social Worker
Minor Supporting / Front Desk Clerk Works at the hospital’s front desk and initially claims Rachel doesn’t exist in the hospital’s system. The screenplay shows the clerk's eyes moving toward the security cameras before she finally admits Rachel was taken to the psychiatric ward unit. Actor Notes: Doesn’t have to be a evil character but definitely afraid of getting in trouble with the organization

Minor Supporting (1-2 speaking lines) / Random Nurse Nurse that checks on Rachel throughout the film
Minor Supporting (1-2 speaking lines) / Woman being taken to harvest Just like Rachel, this woman is being held against her will at this hospital. Minor Supporting (1-2 speaking lines) / Recurring Antagonists Portray each one differently. Examples included in FULL character breakdown. Some scenes are physical performances only. There are 5 Orderly speaking parts and each is 1-2 lines. 1 Security Guard has a speaking part and it is also 1-2 lines. All 5 Orderly speaking parts will be given to one Orderly or will be split up between the group. Same for the Security Guards.
Minor Supporting (1-2 speaking lines) / Major Recurring Threat Professional, emotionless and efficient. 1 Suit has a speaking part with 1-2 lines. Suits are minor supporting roles but will mostly be a part of extra/background actors. Voice 1 lines at the end of the film will also be given to the 1 Suit with speaking lines.
Minor Supporting (1 speaking line) / Organization / Corporate Antagonist Unknown Voice (O.S.) in the middle of the film and Voice 2 (O.S.) at the end of the film will be given to Axiom Holdings. The audience never sees Axiom Holdings but the organization is what drives the film to a potential sequel. Best fit for a voice actor. Voice 1, your silhouette will only be seen along with other Suits silhouettes. Voice 2, you’re completely V.O. off screen.
