Lead Eleanor is fiercely loyal and firm in her beliefs that the constraints of her society are unjust. She tries to control herself but will say what she believes even to her own detriment. She is terribly in love with Selena and does not understand why their relationship is viewed as wrong. Any ethnicity but casting in relation to the role of Eleanor’s Father Intimacy - This role requires kissing, hugging, and hand-holding with the role of Selena.

Lead, Female - younger in appearance than Peter Selena is shaped by her family and their role as leaders of this society. Her rebellion only takes the form of her relationship with Eleanor and she is fiercely protective of her. She struggles with the pressures to conform from her family, but ultimately knows they are in the wrong. Any ethnicity but casting in relation to the role of Peter Intimacy - This role requires kissing, hugging, and hand-holding with the role of Eleanor.

Lead Eleanor’s Father loves his daughter and would do anything to protect her, unless she goes against the council. Set in his ways, surrounded and consistently involved with the council and their core beliefs, he finds no way to excuse anyone who goes against their command. He has moments of doubt but they cannot be overcome by his conditioning. Any ethnicity but casting in relation to the role of Eleanor

Supporting - older in appearance than Selena Peter is weak-willed and bows to the pressures from his parents more than Selena ever has. He is set to take over his father's duties in the future and has been raised with this in mind. His relationship with Selena has grown more frayed as they have gotten older. He loves his sister but he has become entwined with the council and will do anything for his father’s approval. Any ethnicity but casting in relation to the role of Selena

Supporting Selena’s Mother has never questioned the ways of the society she participates in, though she is gentler than her husband. She is the more level-headed of the pair and is a loyal confidant for her husband, though she is given no power in his decisions. Her beliefs are fractured slightly at the realization of her daughter being chosen in death despite the crime she has committed.

Supporting Selena’s Father is stern and has consistently shown conditional love towards his children. He has learned everything he knows from his father and intends to raise Peter to follow in his footsteps. He has never questioned his beliefs, and even when faced with a direct contradiction, he refuses to back down. He holds all the power.

Extras will appear as “townsfolk” in the background of scenes occurring within this society’s common grounds.
