Middle Eastern male. Supporting/Lead actor. He is sharp and fiercely independent. He is very curious and eager to try to understand things so that he can plan and further his cause. He is warm and personable, charismatic, but often seems to have an ulterior motive.

He believes a father’s role is to provide, discipline and prepare his son to become a success, and that is to become a doctor. He does not believe it is necessary to show affection to his son or his wife. He might love them but doesn’t know how to communicate that to them, instead shows borderline resentment towards them. Core traits: Stern, traditional, demanding, emotionally guarded, frustrated, proud, controlling, and ultimately protective of his son.

South Asian woman and wife of SOHAIL. She represents the older generation submissive wife, who finds herself receiving the brunt of her husband’s frustrations regarding the expectations he had for his life and the life of their son. She is calm but emotionally worn down and carrying quiet fatigue.

American born with South Asian background. She is the girlfriend of protagonist. She is confident, knows what she wants in her life, but finds herself frustrated in life, which stems from her boyfriend. Despite a deep love she has for him, she is fed up with her boyfriend’s careless and immature ways. She is forced to confront a fear that she might have to let him go.

South Asian man and the Dean of Students at a prestigious medical school. He is a disciplined man and believes in discipline. His aura and vibe are stern, authoritative, direct, yet calm during anger or frustration. He is a “no BS” guy who hates people with excuses and those that talk in circles.

College professor who is friendly, kind, and genuinely interested in hearing the opinions of his students and encourages student participation and conversation. He is not an authoritative man yet can de-escalate situations based on the reputation and respect he has for being a good and likeable professor.

African American, male, best friend of protagonist, raised in Baltimore. He is carefree, friendly, hardworking and funny. His relationship with Danny (protagonist) is close (“a brother from another mother”).
