About the project: Logline: Two gay men adopt a straight woman to save her from the throes of modern dating. Adopt a Straight is a mostly improvised comedy series that satirizes modern dating while emphasizing the importance of chosen family, and the increasingly desperate state of romance. Think character-driven comedy, slightly absurd world-building, and a lot of room to improvise. *LGBTQ+ performers are strongly encouraged to submit for queer roles. Format: 1-3 minute videos Serialized, with episodic elements, posted on social media. Rate: Unpaid. Supporting role. Is the eager, enthusiastic and sassy head of house at the adoption agency. Employee of the year and recently promoted to Manager, she prides herself on being a "master matchmaker" and has helped hundreds of straights find a temporary home. *Required Shoot Days: 1-2
Supporting role. Is a simple but charming ex-boyfriend. His energy is that of a traditional Chad, and while not a bad guy, he's too busy thinking of himself, and not mature enough to commit to a serious relationship. *Required Shoot Days: 1-2
Supporting role. Is seemingly a perfect, straight boyfriend. He's kind, charismatic, thoughtful, and makes the audience believe in love again. *Required Shoot Days: 1-2
Supporting role. (2 roles) are a lesbian couple who have adopted a straight man to teach him how to treat women. *Required Shoot Days: 1
Is Jane & Rachel's adopted straight son. He's your average joe. He has a hard time connecting with women and refuses to believe he may be the problem. *Required Shoot Days: 1
