About the play: On the night of Jessie's 30th birthday, two best friends, Jessie and Madi, try to navigate rent, roommates, sexuality, life and death, and their complicated feelings for one another, all while one of them tries to conceal a recent trauma that has turned their life upside down. A dark comedy about two broke artists grappling with love, rent, art, sexuality, God, and all the messy things in between. Rate: Non union. Paid (please see rates in CB). Context for Madi sides - you are currently working as an umpire for a kids baseball league while you are figuring out next steps in life, and in this scene you're telling that to a cute new person you just met at a party. Rehearsals will be 2 days a week from September until the show opens in November. Either Thursday evening, Friday evening, Saturday daytime or Sunday daytime. Please let them know which dates you can do. Please note rehearsals and callbacks will be held right by Columbia Skytrain Station in New Westminster. Performances will be in Vancouver. Her family is deeply religious and lives in the suburbs. Madi goes between living with her family and living with her best friend Jessie in the city. Must be available for all rehearsals and performances. MUST BE GOOD WITH MEMORIZING LARGE AMOUNTS OF TEXT. $700 rehearsal honorarium plus performance profit share.
You will be needed for one rehearsal and one Voice Over Recording session. Man or non-binary. Just a guy side trying his best in this job he was given. He feels underqualified for the role of God and tends to disappoint all the newly dead. But he just keeps trying every day. His dream job would have been barista, or very fashionable thrift store employee but here we are... $350 for one rehearsal and one recording session.
