Additional info: UnBroken: Transforming Hurt into Hope, a dramatic project about the wounds we carry, the ways we try to numb them, and the possibility of healing. Episode 1, “The Lost Sheep,” follows 18-year-old Tarick, a young man struggling with anger, rejection, and the lasting effects of growing up in an abusive home. As the pain of his father's legacy threatens to shape his future, Tarick finds himself caught between the streets and the possibility of a different life. Meanwhile, his mother Kristine struggles to protect her family while confronting wounds of her own, and his younger brother Jamal quietly bears witness to it all. Through family conflict, mentorship, faith, and an unexpected encounter with someone who sees beyond his anger, Tarick is challenged to confront the hurt beneath his behavior and discover that being wounded does not mean he has to remain broken. LEAD Kristine's older son. A young man carrying anger, rejection, and a fierce sense of right and wrong. The emotional spine of the episode. Must be able to deliver explosive anger, vulnerability, and a powerful spoken-word finale. Must be able to rap/perform spoken word.

LEAD A single mother and late-shift nurse whose strength is rooted in surviving an abusive relationship. She must communicate both hardened protection and the exhaustion underneath it.

COACH/PASTOR REEVESMale50-59 y.o.All ethnicities

LEAD A basketball coach and pastor who serves as a safe, grounded adult presence for the boys. Must be comfortable commanding both a locker room and a church.

LEAD A former convict and Tarick's father's old friend who is now walking with Christ. Calm, weathered and authoritative. Musical ability or comfort with spoken word is needed. Visible tattoos are a plus.
