Casting Call for "Leave a Message" Film

About the project: Logline: Starting anew in an abandoned rural home, Luana’s life takes an enchanting twist when she meets a woman through a long-dead landline. Rate: These roles are Non-Union and Volunteer positions. Meals and a film credit will be provided, and travel reimbursement can be provided if need be. Additional information: The plan is to shoot the film on the first and second weekend of October. Searching for two actors to play the roles of supporting characters: Rose and Terrence. Rose and Terrence Bouchard are a couple who live in the 1970s. They are best friends who entered a lavender marriage while they were students in university. Terrence is francophone, meanwhile Rose can speak an intermediate/conversational level of French. Therefore, the ability to speak French is a requirement for the role. The role of Rose and Terrence will be almost entirely voice-over. This is due to the characters interacting with the main character primarily over the phone. There is an exception of some scenes where both characters are physically present. There will be some minor intimacy in these scenes (hugging, consoling a distraught partner), so please only apply if that is something you are comfortable doing. The deadline to submit is September 14th, 2026 at 11:59pm. When applying, please submit your head shot and demo reel (if applicable). You will then be sent sides to submit a self tape with.

Female/Fem Presenting. Leads her life with logic. She is headstrong, honest, and not afraid to state her opinion. Beyond her closed-off exterior, she is a very loyal and caring person once you gain her trust. She protects those she cares about to the best of her ability. THIS ROLE REQUIRES SOMEONE WITH AN INTERMEDIATE UNDERSTANDING OF FRENCH.
Male/Masc Presenting. An observant and a calm energy. He is Rose's anchor throughout the film. All he wants is to love openly and enjoy the small things in his day to day life. He is a romantic at heart. This role is almost entirely voice-acting, as Terrence interacts with characters over the phone. There is an exception of one scene you will be physically acting in. THIS ROLE REQUIRES SOMEONE WHO SPEAKS FRENCH AS A FIRST LANGUAGE OR WHO IS FLUENT IN FRENCH.
