"The Rest is Drag" Film Needs Actors

Closeted. Scrawny. Feminine face and body shapes. Quiet and repressed due to his dad’s stoicism but with angst and desire within himself. He’s aimless in life, feels “stuck” in the small town and yearns to be accepted and validated. Consume low-quality videos online to pass time but want to have a real goal to belong somewhere and be noticed. Passive but will do anything to get what he wants because he has nothing to lose.

Tommy’s friend. Looksmaxxer. Content Creator. Big, bold and masculine. Secretly bi-curious. He loves the gym and looksmaxxing lifestyle. He greatly respects and might even be attracted to other hyper-masculine men. He looks down on Tommy and all things “feminine” and “inferior”, but still hangs out with Tommy in a nearly sadistic way. He seeks adrenaline from working out, posting content, and fair-weather friends and praises to deal with his empty small-town life as well.

Tommy’s dad. Stoic, old-fashioned, unloving, the embodiment of patriarchy. Carries the stubborn expectation of masculinity that he can’t find in Tommy, so he fulfills that by sitting on the couch and watching football games all day. Never validates or shows affection, much more so after Tommy’s mom had passed away due to cancer.

Luke's looksmaxxer friend. “Chad” by definition but in aspects more appealing to other men. Muscular and masculine. Not a content creator himself but a follower of the looksmaxxing lifestyle. Close with Luke and only sees Tommy as a joke, never a competition. Tommy’s main source of jealousy in the film.

Luke’s girlfriend. The girl that goes with the flow. Attractive but therefore objectified. Always a sidekick and a decoration of Luke’s life and knows it. Figuring out her own identity and ways to feel more like herself.
