About the project: Synopsis: A year after his wife’s suicide, former clergyman Johannes Rosmer lives quietly at his ancestral home with Rebecca West, his late wife’s former companion. As Rosmer prepares to publicly reject his conservative past, buried truths about Rebecca, his marriage, and his wife’s death begin to surface. A psychological drama about love, guilt, idealism, and what haunts us in the consequences of the desires. Rate: Profit Share - net profits from production will be shared among participating artists. Additional information: Rehearsals and Production will take place in Mount Pleasant. Rehearsals begin Sept 15th. Show Dates: Nov 5-8, Nov 12-15 (with possible extension Nov 19-22). Housekeeper at Rosmersholm and keeper of its traditions, and secrets. Practical, observant, superstitious, and deeply embedded in the history of the house. She sees more than she says.
Editor of the local radical newspaper and rising political force. Disgraced and exiled by the elite, shrewd, composed, and difficult to intimidate. Less interested in ideological purity than in how power really works.
Rosmer’s former tutor. An eccentric, impoverished intellectual, and once great idealist. Brilliant, theatrical, funny, and increasingly tragic. Grand in manner (or drunk) and uncompromising in his beliefs.
