About the project: SYNOPSIS: Featuring an all-women+ cast and an original through-composed 1920-2020s mashup score, Richard Rodgers Award-winning musical Perpetual Sunshine & the Ghost Girls tells the true story of the capitalist exploitation and knowing radium poisoning of workers by the U.S. Radium Corporation—and the women who fought back. Rate: LOA-NYC $800 weekly minimum Additional info: Audition day lunch 1:00 PM - 2:00 PM. PREPARATION: Please prepare a brief song that showcases range and emotional depth. Music Theater pop is preferred. See each character description for specifics. Rehearsals: October 26th-November 13th. Presentations: November 12th and 13th. EPA Procedures are in effect for this audition. An Equity Monitor will be provided. Equity’s contracts prohibit discrimination. Mid 20s, doubles as Ghost Girl G6. Mollie works at the factory with her sisters, Albina & Quinta. Mollie is an innocent, but she loves Grace’s verve for something new. VOCAL: Belt to D5. Should be comfortable in both MT & MT pop styles. Strong sense of late 1920’s/early 1930’s vocal stylings necessary. Both a good comedic & dramatic sense are required. Arthur Roeder: The second Chairman of the company. Clarence Lee: The third Chairman of U.S. Radium. Strong pop/rock belt. Solid D5’s required. Should be able to go toe to toe with Grace vocally. Please bring in a pop/rock selection that shows range & a non-pop MT selection that shows versatility.

Florence Fontina: A fictional radio star of the 1920’s. She is everywhere. She is sultry and fabulous and epitomizes what a capitalistic society needs a woman to be. Judge Backes: The judge in the women’s trial in 1928. Backes is a dude’s dude. He loves the game of law.
