About the project: In 1962 Baltimore, plus-size teenager Tracy Turnblad dreams of dancing on the Corny Collins Show. She wins a spot, becomes an overnight sensation, and uses her newfound platform to challenge the show's segregation policy. Along the way, she finds romance, stands up to the reigning queen of teen TV, and rallies her city toward integration. This high-energy musical comedy pairs irresistible 60s pop sound with a genuine message about acceptance and change.
