About the project: SYNOPSIS: Based on the Victor Hugo novel and songs from the Disney animated feature, The Hunchback of Notre Dame showcases the film’s Academy Award-nominated score, as well as new songs by Menken and Schwartz. Peter Parnell’s new book embraces story theatre and features verbatim passages from Hugo’s gothic novel. Additional info: DANCE CALL: Saturday September 5, 2026 (7:00pm; mandatory for ALL Esmeralda auditionees; highly suggested for anyone wishing to be considered for Clopin or any featured dance roles; optional for all others.) CALLBACKS: Sunday September 6, 2026 (2pm-6pm) REHEARSALS: September 2026 - December 2026 PERFORMANCES: December 4 - 13, 2026 Please prepare a song NOT from The Hunchback of Notre Dame. Choose a piece between 2 and 5 minutes from one of Disney’s theatrical productions (ie: Beauty and the Beast, The Little Mermaid, Aladdin, etc.) or from one of the following musicals: Wicked, Children of Eden, The Baker’s Wife, The Prince of Egypt, Phantom of the Opera, Les Miserables, or other classic musicals with a similar music style. (Meaning: please no pop/rock musicals and avoid any selections from Grease, Jersey Boys, and Pippin) Please come with an INSTRUMENTAL track that will be hooked up to the sound system.
