About the project: Alex, a 16-year-old facing sarcoma, worries not about death itself, but about being remembered only as "the one who died." In an effort to preserve something more meaningful, his friends settle on one story to tell when people ask who Alex was: A night they all stayed up and biked across town to buy some PVC, and take it pole vaulting off a local dock. A simple night of high school stupidity, told as an attempt to contextualize how a life can go from the most something anything could be, to nothing. Able to pass as early 30’s. This role is playing the older version of another character in the film. Matt is a father of one, and is someone who has known grief almost his whole life. The events earlier in the story follow his first encounters with death when he was 16, but this role is for him as an adult, and as someone who has carried this for weight so long.
The character will be in a scene watching over two kids while they play in a backyard, as well as a brief scene driving the two of them as teenagers. Preferably Asian, Caucasian also ok, but must plausibly look like an older version of character Alex.
