"The Importance of Being Earnest" Play Needs Cast

Auditions for the second show of the historic 100th Anniversary Season, the classic farce “The Importance Of Being Earnest”. Seeking actors. The details are provided below for your reference. About the project: First performed on 14 February 1895 at the St James’s Theatre in London, it is a farcical comedy depicting the tangled affairs of two young men about town who lead double lives to evade unwanted social obligations, both assuming the name Ernest while wooing the two young women of their affections. Rate: All-volunteer, non-profit community theater company. Additional info: Auditions will consist of cold readings from the script. British accents are preferred for this production. While there are 9 roles, both male and female, casting is not restricted to traditionally assigned gender roles. The show will be set in a modern setting, but will retain the location and required accents as detailed in the script. The show will run December 4-6, 2026, and December 11-13, 2026.
