10 roles
Mmature adult voice John is a former federal wildlife agent and scientist recruited—without much choice—to help preserve and eventually restore life after a climate-driven collapse. Intelligent, observant, skeptical, and emotionally guarded, he questions whether humanity deserves another chance. His dry humor and understated sarcasm conceal grief, moral fatigue, and a continuing sense of duty.
Mature adult voice Jasmine is a geneticist and the composed, capable leader of the scientific team. Warm and welcoming when circumstances allow, she nevertheless possesses unquestioned authority and can become firm when the mission—or the cohesion of her team—is threatened. Beneath her professionalism is considerable personal grief and emotional vulnerability.
Adult voice Sarah is a geneticist and structural engineer who is intelligent, sincere, somewhat socially awkward, and determined to believe humanity can do better. She admires John’s earlier work and wants his approval, although his skepticism initially unsettles her. Sarah brings optimism and emotional openness to a team carrying enormous psychological pressure.
Adult voice Jordan is responsible for the facility’s computer systems and artificial intelligence. Quick, technologically gifted, humorous, and initially easygoing, he becomes increasingly anxious and confrontational as the facility begins showing signs of instability.
A adult voice Marianna specializes in animal husbandry and linguistics. Sociable, perceptive, warm, and naturally funny, she helps relieve tension within the group—but she is not merely comic relief. She can quickly become grounded and direct when Jordan’s behavior threatens the team. The actor should have lively conversational timing, an engaging laugh, and the ability to transition from playful teasing to emotional disappointment and calm moral clarity.
Adult voice Sachiko is a scientist specializing in microorganisms and invertebrates. Gentle, compassionate, and deeply connected to both people and the natural world, she feels the human cost of the catastrophe more openly than the others. Her quiet demeanor can give way to sudden anger when clinical reasoning appears to dismiss suffering.
Mature adult voice Vihaan is the team’s climatologist and physicist. Analytical, thoughtful, and generally reserved, he tends to interpret events through science, probability, and historical perspective. His matter- of-fact conclusions can sometimes sound emotionally detached, even when he is privately grieving.
Mature adult voice Thomas is responsible for plants and fungi. Relaxed, personable, spiritually grounded, and occasionally mischievous, he uses humor to keep the group connected. He can joke about mushrooms one moment and invoke faith or tradition the next without either quality feeling forced.
The narrator will read scene headings, action, transitions, and essential visual information while maintaining the pace of the performance. This is not a conventional storyteller role; the narrator must support the actors without overpowering them. Excellent sight-reading, clear diction, consistent pacing, and confident pronunciation of scientific and technical terminology are essential.
Doubled Role Female-presenting; adult voice. The actor will perform two distinctly different roles. Tina is a natural, emotionally present human character whose dialogue requires warmth, spontaneity, and believable personal connection. The facility’s AI voice should contrast with Tina—calm, precise, controlled, and authoritative, particularly as conditions become increasingly urgent. The AI should sound intelligent and unsettlingly composed rather than exaggerated or robotic.
