"Dead Outlaw" Musical Needs Equity Actors
Equity actors required for roles in 2027 Season show "Dead Outlaw". ONLY LOCAL TALENT WILL BE CONSIDERED. Please see the information provided below for further details. Rate: SPT $582 weekly minimum (SPT 5) Additional info: Local Kansas City area actors are encouraged to audition. PREPARATION: Please prepare a short cut of something you absolutely love to sing. Bring your book with you in case additional selections are requested. An Equity Monitor will not be provided. The producer will run all aspects of this audition. The "dead outlaw." Born in Maine and dying at 31 in Oklahoma, he is an ambitious but chronically luckless man, alcoholic, and amateur thief whose corpse turns into a macabre cross-country attraction. Strong ability to sing with a country/folk twang.
An omniscient narrator who drives the story and performs songs with an onstage band. He also doubles as Jarrett, a bank robber and the leader of a robber gang who teaches Elmer the tools of the trade while the two are in jail. Strong ability to sing with a country/folk twang.

Louis is Elmer's bumbling coworker from his time working as a plumber in Kansas. He also doubles as Charles Patterson, a man who, alongside his brother James, poses as Elmer's sibling to claim the corpse for their traveling carnival. Strong ability to sing with a country/folk twang.
A versatile ensemble member. Sings well. Helen is Elmer's adoptive mother who raises him after his father dies. Doubles as Maggie, a kind young woman in Iola, Kansas, with whom Elmer has a brief romance and nearly finds middle-class respectability. Strong ability to sing with a country/folk twang.

A real-life, flamboyant coroner from Los Angeles in 1976 who oversees the final autopsy and identification of Elmer’s body after it is discovered hanging in a funhouse. Strong ability to sing with a country/folk twang.
