Searching for Equity actors for 2027 Season show "Once on This Island". ONLY LOCAL TALENT WILL BE CONSIDERED. The relevant details are provided below for your review. Rate: SPT $582 weekly minimum (SPT 5) Additional info: Local Kansas City area actors are encouraged to audition. PREPARATION: Please prepare a short cut of something you absolutely love to sing. Bring your book with you in case additional selections are requested. An Equity Monitor will not be provided. The producer will run all aspects of this audition. Soprano, Vocal range top: Eb5, Vocal range bottom: G3. A young peasant girl who longs for a life full of grand adventure and true love. An optimistic dreamer, the protagonist of the story.
BIPOC, similar to Ti Moune. Baritone. Vocal range top: E5, Vocal range bottom: C4. A young light skinned man from the “other”, more wealthy side of the island. He struggles with his feelings for Ti Moune and his inability to spend the rest of his life with her. He is betrothed to another wealthy woman.
BIPOC. Tenor, Vocal range top: Ab5, Vocal range bottom: C#4. Papa Ge is also known as the sly Demon of Death. He is the main antagonist of the show. He tricks Ti Moune into giving her life for another, the life of the one she loves. He is sneaky and a very skilled manipulator.
BIPOC. Mezzo-Soprano, Vocal range top: D5 Vocal range bottom: A3. Erzulie is the Goddess of Love. She is warm, tender, and compassionate. She believes that love is the greatest power of all, conquering even death.
BIPOC. Baritone, Vocal range top: E5 Vocal range bottom: C#4. Agwe is the God of Water. He is strong, wise, and loyal. He assists in the journey of Ti Moune from the very beginning of the story. Agwe starts both the storm that strands a young Ti Moune in the beginning and the storm that is the catalyst for Ti Moune’s main journey.
BIPOC. Mezzo-Soprano, Vocal range top: E5 Vocal range bottom: A3. Asaka is the Goddess of the Earth, she is warm, caring, and nurturing.
Alto, Vocal range top: B5 Vocal range bottom: G4. Mama Euralie is the adoptive mother of the heroine, Ti Moune. Mama Euralie finds the young girl in a tree and believes that she was chosen by the Gods for something special. She is fiercely protective of her family.
Tenor, Vocal range top: E5 Vocal range bottom: Bb3. Tonton Julian is a simple man who loves his family. He is the adoptive father of the heroine, Ti Moune. Tonton Julian finds the young girl in a tree and along with his wife agree to take her home and raise her as their own. He believes she was saved by the Gods for something special.
BIPOC. Mezzo-Soprano, Vocal range top: D5, Vocal range bottom: Bb3. Andrea is the betrothed fiancé of Daniel. She is wealthy and looks down on the peasants.
BIPOC. Bass, Vocal range top: D5, Vocal range bottom: A3. Armand is the stern, disapproving father of Daniel. He refuses to let his son marry anyone other than his elite betrothed, regardless of who his son truly loves.
