PREPARATION: Please prepare a brief contemporary musical theatre song and or pop song that shows off your voice and range appropriate to the role you are auditioning for. If asked, please also have ready an additional short cut of a different song. Bring sheet music, accompanist will be provided. All must bring a hardcopy headshot/ resume. Based on the classic fairytales, our shows are set to modern music and written in the style of a British Panto (Think Peter Pan Goes Wrong). Mother to Aladdin, typically played by a man with comedic flair and strong voice. Lovable and kind. Think Harvey Fierstein from Hairspray or Mrs. Doubtfire. Will accept female identifying actors as well.
Female Identifying. Feisty, beautiful, vibrant, spirited. Strong acting abilities. Must have a strong singing voice and able to dance. (Song styles Olivia Dean, Sienna Spiro)
Male Identifying. Aladdin’s older brother. With a comedy flair, warm friendly, the audience must love him, drives the show, able to interact with audience, must have good improv abilities. Singing a bonus.
Male Identifying. Yasmin’s father. Overprotective of his daughter, and a bit bumbling but endearing. Must be good with comedy, dynamic on stage. Singing a bonus.
Male Identifying. Strong, overbearing and extremely good at being evil. Must be a strong singer, dynamic on stage and able to control and interact with the audience. Doing magic is a bonus (Song style: Coldplay)
