Casting Call for "Buried Child" Stage Play

The sickly, alcoholic patriarch. Weak with a chronic cough, he spends most of the play stuck on the living room sofa. He is cynical, worn down, and hiding a dark family secret.

Dodge and Halie's oldest son. Once an All-American football player, he is now emotionally vacant, damaged, and acts strangely—frequently bringing mysterious harvests of fresh corn and carrots into the house from out of nowhere.

Dodge and Halie's younger son. He is a violent, aggressive amputee who lost his leg to a chainsaw. He bullies his helpless father when he visits.

Tilden's son and Dodge/Halie's grandson. He returns home after a long absence, expecting a warm reunion, but is shockingly unrecognized by his own grandfather.

Vince's confident, modern girlfriend. She enters the chaotic household as an outsider, gradually shifting from amused confusion to fierce confrontation as she uncovers the family's horrifying secret.

A local, distinguished-looking Protestant minister intertwined with Halie's life, who gets pulled into the psychological wreckage of the household.
