Storyline: WRECKER is a neo-noir crime drama in the vein of Drive and Taxi Driver, exploring loneliness, redemption, and the search for connection in a dark and unforgiving world. The film follows Harlan Spivey, a young ex-con trying to rebuild his life after prison while working as a tow truck driver in a dangerous city. Haunted by his past, Harlan struggles to find redemption until he reconnects with Maribel Zuniga, a young woman whose passion for dance has always been her escape. As a child, Maribel was inspired to dance after watching The Red Shoes, sparking a lifelong love for movement and performance. Although she once dreamed of becoming a ballerina, she was told her height would limit her opportunities in the ballet world. Rather than abandoning her passion, Maribel found a new path, embracing dance as an art form and pursuing her dream of becoming a professional dancer. Strong-willed, compassionate, and determined, Maribel becomes a source of hope and inspiration in Harlan’s life. Their connection is built on two people fighting to overcome the circumstances that have defined them and finding the courage to pursue a better future. Reunited after his release, she becomes his love interest, offering him kindness, support, and hope while pursuing her own dream of becoming a dancer. As the story unfolds, Maribel fights to break free from her past but is drawn into Marco’s dangerous world, leading to her kidnapping. Her dedication to dance represents hope amid hardship. Dance Experience Requirement: Maribel is an aspiring dancer, and several key scenes in the film highlight both the beauty of dance and its emotional significance to her journey. We are seeking an actress with strong dance ability and performance experience. Semi-professional dance experience is preferred, and applicants are encouraged to submit a dance reel showcasing their skills. Experience in contemporary, modern, freeform, ballet, lyrical, or other expressive dance styles is welcome. The role requires an actress who can move confidently and authentically, using dance as an extension of character and emotion.
