About the project: Josie lives a solitary but safe life with her mannequin friend Howard years after the world ends until she meets Levi, another fellow survivor who is eager to make a friend despite Josie’s guarded and defensive personality. Josie reluctantly gives friendship a chance, keeping Levi at arm’s length, until VFS Final Project Production Plan Page 3 of 5 Levi accidentally breaks Howard, leading Josie to kick Levi out of her life. After reflecting on her instincts to push people away in the name of safety, and accepting that Howard is broken beyond repair, Josie arranges a funeral and invites Levi back into her life to help her say goodbye to Howard. Josie is a 25 year old woman who has spent years alone after a pandemic wiped out almost everyone. Josie didn’t always have a hardened exterior. She lived a happy life surrounded by friends and family. She was a creative person who loved to dabble in new hobbies and experiences, but since the end of the world, she has almost forgotten her old self.
Levi is an awkward but kind hearted 28 year old who is eager to form a friendship when he discovers he is not alone. In his life before the world ended, he was never one of the “cool kids” in school. Because he has had his own struggles to find acceptance among his peers, he is quick to be accepting of others.
The Man is a survivor of the end of the world, and after years of no contact with other humans, he stumbles upon Josie. We meet this character in a flashback as he was out on a supply run, when he meets Josie, we learn of his intent to harm.
