Pine Needles by Parker Couch After his father's death leaves him running the failing family mortgage business, a Texas Hill Country broker is drawn into a predatory lending scheme. In order to save the firm, he begins targeting the most desperate people in town. 2. "A Reunion" by Lance Elliot Osborne On an early morning phone call, two former classmates—one Black, one white—reconnect for the first time in 50 years. What begins as a simple high school reunion invitation unfolds into an unflinching, tender conversation about race, memory, and what was left unsaid. “Reunion” explores how old wounds, deep truths, and unexpected kinship can emerge in the most ordinary moments. 3. "Who’s There?" by Sari Boren On a stormy Halloween night, a tween girl out trick-or-treating talks herself into a strange man’s house. He’s unnerved by costume (and her presence) and tries to send her home. She’s frightened by the storm and refuses to leave. As the dangers outside grow closer and louder, will he be able to keep his promise to protect her? Additional info: No appointment is necessary. Attend one or both evenings.
