Seeking Equity actors for roles in 2027 show: "Barcelona: The Musical". ONLY LOCAL TALENT WILL BE CONSIDERED. Please find the details below. About the project: SYNOPSIS: Barcelona: The Musical – is set in post–Civil War Spain in 1939 and follows the intersecting lives of students and families struggling to navigate personal loyalty, political oppression, and the moral consequences of war. This will be the premiere production. Rate: $675 weekly minimum Additional info: PREPARATION: Please prepare 32-bars of a song and have a contrasting selection ready, if asked. Bring sheet music in the correct key. Be prepared to stay and dance, if asked. Accompanist provided. Also, please prepare Sides which will be emailed in advance and hard copies will also be provided at the audition. Visually impaired performers may request an advance copy of the Sides when making an audition appointment. Also, please bring 2 copies of your picture and resumé, stapled together back-to-back. An Equity Monitor will not be provided. The producer will run all aspects of this audition. Equity’s contracts prohibit discrimination. Tenor. Antonio’s childhood best friend and football teammate. Pragmatic and politically skeptical, Pedro prefers to avoid activism and focus on friendship, football, and survival during uncertain times.

Baritone/Tenor. Antonio’s father and a Colonel in the Spanish military. Loyal to Franco and deeply shaped by the loss of his older son, Miguel, Jose struggles to reconcile duty, patriotism, and the desire to protect his remaining son.

Baritone/Tenor. Franco’s trusted confidante and senior military advisor. Publicly loyal and obedient, Gonzalez privately recognizes Franco’s vanity and insecurity but rarely challenges him directly.

Mezzo. Antonio’s mother. Emotionally burdened by the trauma of war and the fear of losing another child, she pressures Jose to keep Antonio away from danger.
