About the project: Seeking performers for 3rd annual PRISM festival of new queer musicals. "Now, in the basement of a small-town parish, a mysterious empty coffin appears. A secret underground society must investigate why; Nightingale hears sounds of the past, while Rook sees visions of the future. Their supervisor, Swallow, needs answers, but the woman who claimed to know everything is missing. if you bury me is a fantasy for queer imaginations, following a group of mystical storytellers as they learn what grows from the dead and what begins in the end." Rate: $450.00 – $925.00 per gig. Additional info: Timeline: September 5-15(ish) 29 Hour Workshop + 1 Public Presentation September 16-27(ish) 5-10 Additional Rehearsal Hours + 4 Public Presentations When applying, please include a self-tape. Please include a tape of you singing up to one minute of a folk, folk-rock, funk or jazz song. It doesn't have to be from the Musical Theatre canon, but can be if you'd like. Optional: Please also include a monologue of your choice.

(They/them). Nonbinary/genderfluid. Deeply insightful and endearingly abstract. Guarded, but learns to let their hair down. Speaks with a stutter and chooses their words carefully. Sings without a stutter and conjures the soul of folk rock with the edge of punk.
Queer woman (or a little older than Nightingale). Clinical, exacting, severe supervisor of Nightingale. All numbers and forms. No time for curiosity or feeling-- because she's not ready to feel the pain she's carrying. Used to be softer before Eden, her partner, disappeared.
(All pronouns). Newly cracked egg. Gender is fake, (or a little younger than Nightingale). Golden retriever energy-- virtuosically talented and eager for approval from authority figures. Sings with the fluidity of funk and the heft of soul.
(A collective) The voice of what passes through. They are the voices of the world which have been buried. Collective role with spotlight responsibilities (Narrator and Soloists). Example would be The Fates from Hadestown.
