About the project: Welcome to BetterBeings, a chain store where anybody can order their very own "Smart, Natural, Customizable" - a being created exactly to their standards and specifications. When Charlie, an apathetic employee of the company, is threatened to either step up at work or be fired, she decides to do something else instead: custom-build her own replacement. Rate: Non union. SUPPORTING. Harried but high-functioning manager of BetterBeings, and Charlie's older sister. Under immense pressure to succeed, which seeps through the cracks of her put-together facade. Sometimes, she feels like she's the only person in the world who knows how to Work. Mandarin or Cantonese fluency preferred.
SUPPORTING. Charlie's image of what her Perfect Self should be: charismatic, confident (sometimes to the point of condescension), and a model employee. She starts off certain of her place and purpose in existing, but begins to doubt this through the story. Despite being built to be the best, she's naive about the world and what it really means to be 'human', which can make her feel lesser-than.
