Lead Is an aspiring author who is insecure about his writing. Despite this insecurity, he desires to put his first story out into the world. He is thoughtful, softspoken, dorky, considerate, and old-fashioned. Wyll goes from an insecure author undeserving of love to an assured aspiring author who’s hopelessly in love!
Female Lead Is a carefree fine artist who manages to see the best in everyone she meets. Despite her bright attitude toward others, she struggles to finish her paintings because she still needs to heal from her little sister’s death. She is carefree, spirited, bright, intuitive, and empathetic. Mae goes from being depressed to being her true spirited self.
Supporting/Antagonist Is a suave fellow who put his musical past behind him to pursue life realistically; he wants the same for Wyll to save him the trouble of having his dreams crushed. Damian needs to confront the fact that he’s projecting his failure and insecurity onto Wyll and that he needs to figure it out by himself. He is suave, pragmatic, sensitive, mellow, and protective. Damian goes from a discouraging friend to a reignited musician.
