About the project: A black horror comedy/drama. With echoes of Stoppard, Kafka, and the Brothers Grimm, THE PILLOWMAN centers on a writer in an unnamed totalitarian state who is being interrogated about the gruesome content of his short stories and their similarities to a series of child murders. The result is an urgent work of theatrical bravura and an unflinching examination of the very nature and purpose of art. Additional info: Cold reads from the script. Detective/interrogator, the "bad cop." Hot-headed, violent, and impulsive.
Seeking two adult actor/puppeteers and two young actor/puppeteers. Adults who can convincingly portray young characters are preferred due to the show's mature subject matter, though children will be considered with parental approval. Those interested in being a story actor/puppeteer should also attend auditions.
