4 roles
- the main character, who becomes possessed by some vague occult influence before the film even begins. - Drew is stuck in a self-destructive loop and has failed to prioritize their mental health for their entire life. They are still living at home, unemployed, and ghosting their psychiatrist. - the actor must be comfortable with the physicality and animalistic acting the role demands, as well as having SFX makeup applied.
- Drew's older sister; they used to be very close but have been pulling away from each other ever since drew turned 18. Kathryn has a very rigid way of thinking and doesn't understand why Drew can't manage their mental illness as effectively as she manages her own. - she has always been considered the "normal" one and was often overlooked by both of her parents (for differing reasons). - the actor must be comfortable participating in a chase sequence and learning fight choreography.
- Drew's mother and primary caretaker. She really wants to help but is extremely overbearing and frequently infantilizes her younger child. She is overly critical of Kathryn and too forgiving with Drew, which doesn't do either of them any favors. - ideally this character will have an accent fitting for a native Texan, but this is not mandatory. - actor must be comfortable learning some fight choreography.
- Drew's father and the breadwinner for the family. Doesn't understand Drew's diagnoses and mostly views them as a lazy disappointment. He is jonesing to get out of the house as much as he can and is emotionally disengaged from the conflict when he manages to be physically present. - actor must be comfortable faking a fall.
