About the project: Arandi is a short film about a crew of covert agents sent on a mission to an alien planet to unearth the truth about a living family member of a felled dictator. What ensues is a conversation about what to do with said family member. This story explores how we as a society look at those who are connected to problematic figures and how we judge them. Lead. A strict by-the-book commander of her crew. She is determined, capable, and a soldier first and foremost. She takes care of her crew and assures their safety but the mission will always come first. Should be ok with stage combat.
Lead. The technical environmentalist of the crew. She is smart but sticks to her own values rather than her orders. At heart she is true to herself and questions everything with analytical scrutiny. Should be ok with stage combat.
Lead. Stern medic of the crew. Has immense medical knowledge and works through conflicts with a logical procession. He has a darker, intense side to him not many are allowed to see. There is an inner anger and hatred to him that truly fuels his desires to double-cross the rest of his crew. Should be ok with stage combat.
Lead. Klara has been locked in a cryogenic pod for almost a hundred years. Her son ascended to be the dictator of humanity for the majority of that time but has now been executed and his government ousted. She finds all of this out over the course of the film. She is horrified by what he has done but in her heart still loves the boy that used to be her son. She is worried about what will happen to her if she returns to society.
